Kimber TLE, Sig 220 or USP 45ACP

I'd go with the SIG P220 in a full-size gun, and couple it with the P245 for a compact gun. That way you get the same action, trigger, etc. in both guns, making training with one carry over much more easily to the other.

It's a tough making the choice between the P220 and USP.

But I would choose the USP. I already own two and it has a higher capacity of .45.

The Sig would have the better trigger.

So it's a toss up.... More bullets, better trigger?

As much as I am sentimentally disposed to the 1911s, and even though I've never had a problem with my USP, I just can't seem to stay away from the P220 for my primary home defense handgun. It's always my go-to gun for that role.

Well I decided on a Sig 220ST.

Bachmans in Texas has them for $599 plus 15 dollars shipped! Thats unheard of in CA.

Dealer Cost from Accusport is about $640 in my part of the world.

One of our forum members sealed the deal when we went out to the range and I had a chance to shoot his Sig 220ST.

So Sig 220ST it is!!! :)

It should be mine in about 3 weeks! (FFL was shipped today and the lovely 10 day waiting period)

I was all set to purchase a Sig P220 from all the glowing posts I read here about them. Just like the majority of the replies here. I went to my local gun shop to check them out. I was surprised how large the gun is. I will say that it fit my hand well and felt well balanced. The trigger was awful on this thing. The take up before break even in single action was the worst I have ever encountered. The double action pull was heavy and long, as with other DA/SA triggers. I walked out of the shop marking the Sig off my list because of the trigger.

If as Mr. Irwin stated that the triggers vary greatly gun to gun I guess I'll look into them again at the next gun show. I'm looking at the Kimbers's also. I found a NIB Custom CDP II on GunBroker yesterday for $800.00, good deal from the prices I have been quoted here locally. I also want to look at the new S&W 1911, it got a good review from Gun&Ammo and on Gunblasts site.
