There is nothing wrong with a Kobra unless the light is dim. They have a tinted lense that is fine for bright daytime conditions and becomes progressively worse as the sunlight becomes dimmer. As they are an excellent both eyes open sight you can cope with it by using both eyes at night.
If you want a close approximation get a KVAR=04S or BP02 mount and put a C-More railway on it. I would splurge for the 2MOA module.
The other problem is that the emitter window is exposed. If it's raining water will get on the window and the reticle will X-Mas tree, becoming unusable.
I've switched to the PK-23 on a siderail mount. It's lower then the Kobra, but just high enough that the dust cover can be removed for field stripping without removing the optic.
