Kofi Annan: UN not to take U.S. guns away

Of course they won't come after our guns.......and Bill Clinton did not have sex with that woman or raise my taxes either:neener: .....While we are in fantasy land do they think we also believe in the easter bunny?

Keep your powder dry and your eyes on that funky shaped building full of foreign scum in New York City.......;)

From the article(again): "New York - A renewed controversy erupted Friday before next week's UN conference on small arms and light weapons, as UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan insisted organization has no plan to take away Americans' right to bear arms. "

Notice: Kofi said nothing about "keep"! Rather telling, isn't it!

Be prepared to defend the arms you have. We must be ever vigilant. It is the same for us as it is with terrorism. We must defend our Right to keep and Bear Arms 100% of the time and be 100% successful at it. All they need is for us to be 1% lax and it can all be taken away. From then on, my friends, it'll take a blood bath for us to preserve our rights and the sovereignty that is any man's birthright.

I don't trust these one government, globalist, world-domineering, dictator wannabees anywhere within arms reach of my wallet or beyond rifle range. It may take a slap on the wrist or a slug through the heart to secure our rights, liberties, and sovereignty, but secure them we must. They will not stop until they realize it ain't gonna happen. I don't think we can count on them having an epiphany any time soon, either.

So, be prepared. Tell your senators and the President that you will not sit still and watch silently while they give away our rights to the tools of our freedom.

We in this country have stood by and allowed our government to infringe upon our rights. This permissiveness has come to the attention of others who would also infringe our rights. We've allowed these infringements to occur and the message is that we'll stand for more! It is no different than a bin Laden poking us with a stick around the world and we do nothing. Next thing you know, we've got terrorists taking over fuel-laden airliners, flying them into civilian and military targets on our own soil. Believe me, the UN is populated with dictators and despots not unlike bin Laden. They watch us. They'll take their cue from what they see that we will tolerate.

There is a scene in the movie Princess Bride where the character "Westly" tells his beloved "Buttercup" that his success comes from being ruthless and merciless. He said something to the effect that he had to maintain his ruthless and merciless reputation, for if word got out that he had gone soft, from then on it would be "Work, Work, Work!" Well, we've gone soft. Now we've got to work, work, and work until we regain our stature, for our national security and our inalienable rights!

There is only one reason our rights are under attack. It is because those who are attacking believe they can win. We sent them that message. Change your tune. Write the President and call your senators and inform them you are stocking up arms and ammo just in case the UN gets its way and anyone in government allows it to touch our sovereignty in any small way. There are lines to be drawn, my friends, and there is no maybe about this one.

Woody

Look at your rights and freedoms as what would be required to survive and be free as if there were no government doing that for you. If that doesn't convince you to take a stand and protect your inalienable rights and freedoms, nothing will. If that doesn't convince you to maintain your personal sovereignty, you are already someone else's subject. If you don't secure your rights and freedoms to maintain your personal sovereignty now, it'll be too late to come to me for help when they come for you. I will already be dead because I had to stand alone. B.E.Wood

I'll protect my rights to the death. I know a lot of people say it, and it sounds dramatic, but I guarantee you that I will. I know I'll have fine folks like all of you to help me in that fight should it ever come to it.

We don't need the UN to "come and get them"--between short barrel restriction, full auto restriction, silencer restriction and a variety of state restrictions on magazine capacity, handgun and 50 caliber weapons, our own Congress and state legistures are doing a fine job on "coming and getting them".

People with guns murdered a whole lot of people in the last century. (Stalin's Red Army, Sadaam, Pol Pot, any one of the African genocides, and, oh yeah, the NAZIs.)

As I understand it, there was even one person murdered with a registered Full Auto MAC type machine pistol in the US...

Global gun confiscation has always been the UN's goal

The UN needs to understand that if they attempt to confiscate our arms in the United States, we will have no problem killing them in the streets.

Kofi Anaan is a lying, bottom-feeding bureaucrat; the UN has never before made any bones about their intention to disarm every citizen of every nation, the U.S. included. The UN policy has not changed - Kofi is just lying to try to cover it up.

As if he could.
My nightmare is that, if such a resolution passes in the UN, and later a socialist/leftist/UN friendly....er, I'll say what I mean. If a gun grabber becomes President, or either branch of the Legislature gains an anti-gun majority, they could simply endorse the UN resolution and agree to it.

Its bad, bad nightmare.

When you consider that the UN almost always lies, even when they don't have to, you will know how to evaluate the Kofi statement. Kofi is counting on a Billary presidancy to sell us out to the global communists. The human rights commission (expected to be Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, N. Korea, China, Russia) will impose their compassion on us with the support of Billary.

Thank You, Mr. Annan...

'We are not out to take guns away from the Americans, the intention is to make sure that guns don't get into the wrong hands,' Annan said.

Thank You, Mr. Annan. But the only "wrong hands" I'm really worried about my "guns" getting into are yours.

'We are not out to take guns away from the Americans, the intention is to make sure that guns don't get into the wrong hands,' Annan said.

Geez man, this has been the exact rationalization I've been given every time the noose of gun control laws was tightened just a little bit more around my neck.

Now it's moving up to the international treaty level.

From Townhall, commenting that Kofi's statement doesn't speak for all member nations of the UN.

The statement from Indonesia’s representative was perhaps the clearest example of what these countries are aiming for.

“We believe that no armed group outside of the State should be allowed to bear weapons. We also believe that regulating civilian possession of Small Arms/Light Weapons will enhance our efforts to prevent its misuse. In our view, the issue of ammunition should also be addressed in the context of the Program of Action because in the absence of ammunition, small arms and light weapons pose no danger.”

A message for Mr Anan

Here's some poetry for you Mr Anan

As Far As Your Rifles Cover

Henry Lawson - 1901

Do you think, you slaves of a thousand years to poverty, wealth and pride,
You can crush the spirit that has been free in a land that's new and wide?
When you've scattered the last of the farmer bands, and the war for a while is over,
You will hold the land ay, you'll hold the land the land that your rifles cover.

Till your gold has levelled each mountain range where a wounded man can hide,
Till your gold has lighted the moonless night on the plains where the rebels ride;
Till the future is proved, and the past is bribed from the son of the land's dead lover
You may hold the land you may hold the land just as far as your rifles cover.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We've had registration in this country for years and ALL :D my guns are registered, you'll see how well registered they are the first time some b------ in a blue helmet shows up in my street.

Spoken by the Indonesian delegate to the gun grab conference, apparently taking a vacation from committing genocide in East Timor. Sure... coffee.

When can we start rounding up those traitors and tyrants in NY? Arrest everyone in the NYT and UN buildings and deport them all to Sudan, make it a two-fer.

'We are not out to take guns away from the Americans, the intention is to make sure that guns don't get into the wrong hands,' Annan said.

This POS talks like he has the choice. Not him, not Baby Bush, not anyone else has the choice to take our guns. WE have the choice of whether or not to surrender them.

Even if our squishy RINO regime gave the UN the go ahead, think about the hallmarks of every UN operation since the Korean War: incompetence, ineptitude, and corruption. I fear the SCOTUS more than I fear the UN.:cuss:
