Does anyone know where to get such an animal?
I'm looking for either an FAL Para-style folding stock or a Krinkov-style stamped folder.
I also looked into underfolders, but I think that'd be better suited to a Yugo when I get it as far as looks go.

Nobody has any idea?
Hell, in the primary guide to Saiga conversions, the dude uses a Krink stock. And I've seen a couple pictures running around out there of them with the commie-length FAL folders.
Can anybody tell me where they come from?
I've seen stocks that need gunsmithing to fit, I obviously don't want that.

Not necessarily, though it would be preferred.
I either want a Krink look-alike or a stock like this one has:

(I do believe this is a gun someone on here has, I could be wrong)

Yeah, why do theirs have that silly metal block, though, instead of just making the tube longer?
I looked at their website. I just found RBP Industries site, after a long time of trying to find it from the conversion reference.

Oh, I think I got it. They have this internal receiver block thingie. That must be what the rifle in the picture is using.
Why didn't they just make it compatible with normal AK receivers?

I'm not sure I follow you.

A folding stock on an AK-platform is made possible by the rear folding "block" that screws in solidly to your receiver. Then you may add any type of folding stock to the rifle.

They have an internal block, as well as an external.
I understand why they did it the way they did now, though I would have done it a different way.

The folding stock pic'ed is an ace with an internal block. I have it on both my S12 and 7.62x39 saiga. With the internal block you have to cut off the stock tang to use it and I had to attack the block with a dremel to get it to clear the side rail mounts.

Largely a matter of aesthetics and possibly length of pull.

I think I'm just gonna go with a regular black plastic stock. $105 for a stock is too much for me.
Why, I could get a top-of-the-line Mosin for all that money!
:neener:

That's what I did with my Saiga. Looked at everything available, just too much $$$. Got my K-VAR 'NATO' length for about $50. The 'Warsaw' length is what comes standard on an AK, but it's pretty short.

Nolo, how tall are you?

I'm 6' and the Nato length fits me a bit better than the normal length stock.

I'm 5', 9.5", best as I can measure it. I am of stocky Scottish build and I fit standard American shotgun stocks like they were custom fit for me. But I also find the Mosin's stock to be fine, and it is also short, no?
I guess I'm a flexible person. Shot an underfolder Yugo once, and it felt awkward, but I don't think that was related to LOP.

Go with normal length ( I just woke up I cannot remember the correct term), I'm a tad under 6 feet too and the NATO length just works for me.

Now if you want a non-folding krink stock, gun-mall had some...

I think you should get the NATO length, then. I find the Mosin stock to be fairly comfortable, but the NATO stock is slightly longer in ways and fits better. A picture would say this better than I.

You see where your hand goes on each stock? Now compare that to what goes to your shoulder. It's nearly the same, with the slight nod to the NATO stock for being somewhat longer due to the pistol grip.

if you where to put an actual krink folder on there you would have to change your rear trunion. and you would have to add the side latch to hold the folder down when its folded up.

they run around 140+ normally
