Krinker Plinker vs. Dixie Consolidated

Never used either of them, IMHO if you are looking to upgrading your 10/22 you should either design your own stock or buy an aftermarket.

a real AK-47 can be obtained for as low as $350 (at least, around here where I live) and there are conversion kits availiable to turn it into a .22lr, and you have the option of reverting to the orignal caliber at any time.

that said, if I had to choose, I'd go with the Dixie Consolidated conversion, it looks sweet.

OK, listen very carefully, I am about to give you the secret of all knowledge of the Ruger 10/22:

www.rimfirecentral.com

Seriously, go, register, start searching. You will discover more than you ever needed to know about every aspect of every aftermarket accessory for the 10/22 ever conceived of by man. I've seen many threads over there on both of these products. Go and read. You won't regret it.

Far be it from me to tell a man how to spend his $,but if I felt the need to have a .22 AK I'd spend less $ than a used 10/22 and Plinker kit and get a brand new Romanian one from my LGS.

The reason I posted here is so I could get some opinions. I am a member at rimfire, I understand doing something custom but I was just looking for people to share their expeiences. I'm trying to decide whats best for the cool factor.

I'd say the Dixie has a higher "cool" quotient, and has been getting good reviews on RimfireCentral.

The main downside is that a good red dot isn't dirt cheap, but a good quality 10/22 bullpup for about what a Walther G22 runs seems like a pretty good deal.

EDIT: now that I look closer, I see that for the price of a Krinker Plinker, you could get a Dixie bullpup _and_ a good quality optic like the Bushnell XLP. The Dixie is $200 last I checked, XLPs go for $175 on eBay. Firmly switching my vote to the DC now.
