Ksccw

I just tried to check out the forum. Seems to be shut down with a letter at the start page. I was not a member of that forum. As a ccw holder in the state of Kansas I am a little concerned. The letter didn't seem to give much promise about the site's future.

it's been great place for local info. And sharing of ks 2a and other gun related events and news. I,m also looking for a member that I was in the middle of a trade on powder and I,m hoping they are also on THR and will pm me. I hope for us in ks that the issues, what ever they are can be resolved and the forum brought back. Mike

I am a member and it being down led me to this forum. I'm ticked off that he shut it down because he can't handle the criticism he is receiving. You start a public forum that is really popular and get pissed because everyone on the forum does not agree with how it's run or disagree with others views. I mean what does he expect? You cannot be the leader/owner of such a site and expect everyone to agree or be respectfull or tactfull. I can understand his frustration but dam. You gotta have thick skin to be in charge.

What ks2a has posted

I'm done.

Really.

I'm done with the bickering and the whining and all the emails and pm's and phone calls and text messages about how somebody in some way is tearing down my forum and tearing down your online community.

You've successfully run off some of our greatest advocates in the political realm and torpedoed the business opportunities that would have expanded this forum in a direction that would have offered us a stronger voice in getting our Rights back.

Ask yourself: Am I part of the problem? Am I on track with the purpose of Kansas Concealed Carry? Is there relevance in my comments? Does poor manners, pitiful locker room humor and antics or the spreading of unverified or unverifiable information do us any good? Is this a conversation I would have with my family and political representatives? Am I no better than this?

I apologize to the supporting businesses. You deserve better.

I apologize to the supporting members, although some of you are part of the problem.

Check back next week.

Regards, KS2A

I'm a little disappointed in the way it was suddenly shut down. If things were getting so bad (and I agree that, in some cases, they were), there should have been more private and public warnings that this was on the horizon - maybe give the worst offenders a couple of days in the penalty box (or boot them off completely). I've long thought that several of the members do nothing but hurt the community and firearm rights in general.

This is one of the worst possible times to shut the forums down. Our rights are under attack worse than they have been in the last 20 years. Some of us (myself included) used those forums to stay abreast of legislative developments and to know what legislation to contact our legislators on. I think that having the forums closed at this critical time hurts our cause.

At the end of the day, it is KS2A's forum, and his to do with as he pleases. That said, I really hope that he reconsiders and reopens the forums earlier than next week, maybe with a stricter or more rigorously enforced code of conduct.

I am member of KSCCW as well, and I am more than little angry for the way this was handled. Fortunately KS2A's tantrum didn't derail a sale I arranged through the forum but it has certainly made it more difficult since I can't communicate with my buyers. Hopefully it will be back up soon as it is a really good and informative forum, yes there are the usual hardheads and tinfoil types but that seems to be the case with any place on the internet with more than two members.

I have been lurking on the ksccw forem for about a year and was going to register soon, just hadn't got around to it. I agree with what Shabadoo said.

I too used ksccw and other similiar sites to try and stay abreast of any local legislation that some of the anti's in the statehouse might introduce. Being close to Manhattan (and KSU) we are well aware that there are folks in Kansas who do not like our states relatively gun friendly environmrnt and would change that in a heartbeat given a chance.

So I too would ask the forem owner if their isn't another option than shutting it down?
