Does anyone know of any muzzle devices such as brakes or flash hiders other than the factory one that comes on an L1A1? It's threads are 9/16 x 24 RIGHT hand instead of left, so I'm a bit at a loss

There is next to nothing out there for the 9/16x24 RH threads for the L1A1 that is not factory. If you are wanting something that is after market your best bet is to have the muzzle cut and rethreaded to 5/8x24. That will open up pretty much every AR10 muzzle break to you. If it can be done...

If it were a metric FAL there would be a few more options, but not many.

This is a bit off-topic, but it may be of interest.

The recent Ruger Mini-14s with factory flash-hiders, such as my "Davidsons' Deluxe" (and the Gunsite Scout) will accept the L1A1 flash-hider. About 3/8" must be removed from the 'hider, and then adjust the length by filing or grinding until it draws-up tight with the bayonet lug at 6:00 o'clock......some red Loc-Tite will hold it securely.

YES, your Mini will now accept the L1A1 bayonet! Just what we all need!

also, would it work to buy an ak flash hider, which supposedly works on a metric pattern rifle and simply fill in the threads and rethread it in the opposite direction? in this way if i ever wanted to i could still use the factory one

Just to drag this further off-topic before it veers back where it belongs.
I put an inch-pattern L1A1 muzzle device on my cut down Ishapore 2A1 7.62x51 pseudo-sout. Nothing says lovin' like having a bayonet on the end of a 16-inch barrel.
