A very special Six Minute (wow!) video of a helicopter MINIGUN. I found two demo videos from the (possible) manufacturer of the Gau 17! These videos show them being used (against GAS FILLED CARS!!) in twin helo gun pods, With almost all tracers. No ball!!!! It looks like lasers! Call in the clones NOW. (If its really bad we moght have to hire some Mandolorians.) AHHH!! Oh wait, sorry. Video. Got carried away. He he. Anyway its really neat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCnumxfr_YM&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5Ev19NsDQ4&mode=related&search=

Would love to fire it, but I can't imagine it being that much fun without some good targets. Where are all the Junk Cars and Washing Machines?

That is awesome. I also wondered about the hearing protection. I have never seen one up close when it was firing and so I was fascinated by the amount of brass flowing out of that gun.

They do literally rain empty cases and links. I would sure hate to be underneath one.

Imagine the Metalstorm gun if it fired cased ammunition:what: Brass waterfall!

Yes, they do.

Link does not hurt at all, brass does a little if it hits you just right.

It gets scattered so much, that if you get hit by one piece it is suprising.

How much for one? (Hypothetical question, as an AR15 is out of my budget at this point in my life) Also, I am assuming you need a class III liscense. Anything else?

How much for one?

About 5 or 6 years ago, I knew of three for sale by the same owner. $29,000 ea. or $75,000 for all 3. I'm sure they've gone up since then; At the same show, there was an M60 GPMG for sale for $12,995.

my favorite scene in the matrix is when the brass is raining down from the mini in the helo;)

I did consider working out how long you'd have to fire it for, for the cost of the ammunition to outweigh the cost of the gun. But I couldn't be bothered :p

I wonder how did they get the footage looking right into the barrels without killing the camera?

Very, very carefully I would expect. I was more concerned about the camera man.

I heard the rounds for the mini gun are electronic ignition. Is that true? If so, do they use a regular primed cartridge? Inform the ignorant!

I'm reminded of the song "Do You Think There'll Be Hummers In Heaven".

Answer I arrive at is, "Probably, but there better be Mini-Guns!"

Can you picture that as a turret option on a Hummer? One short burst during the evening commute and traffic would be FUBAR for the rest of the week. Just what you would need to discourage the tailgater (mental image of driver seeing the barrels start spinning in HIS direction). I'm sure the WSP would take a dim view of the hijinks caused by this unit.
