Laguiole

I guess I'm just going to have to shop around next time I am in Rennes (favorite city in France, btw). My first time in France, I had bought some interesting (not necessarily quality, more decorative) cutlery, and I made it home while my purchases did not.

Yes I had all these nice knives in my luggage and this fellow asked me if I had any weapons in my luggage. I knew to say yes and to tell him they were in checked luggage and he gave me my little blue stickers and away I went. I bought a scrimshaw knife on Maui last year and my wife worried the whole trip that I would get in trouble bringing it home.

I have first hand experience with Forge de Laguiole and Laguiole Actiforge. The Forge de Laguiole product is of much higher quality and I would recommend them to someone looking for a Laguiole style knife. I was very disappointed with the Laguiole Actiforge knife (a personalized one) and would not recommend them.
