Against my better judgment I bought an LCP.

Anybody have ammo recommendations for this little pistola?

By the way if you want one talk do a google search for Black Sun. Those guys have more LCPs available than any place I have seen or heard about.

You won't be sorry

I did have some feeding problems with mine at first but a good cleaning and hitting the feed ramp with a dremel tool with wire wheel fixed it. Actually, firing 300 rounds through it solved most of the problems before the cleaning and polishing. I have only put 75 rounds through it since, but it fed everything without a hiccup.

I am still in the test faze as to which ammo to carry but, for right now, I am carrying Fiocchi XTP ammo. The Fiocchi ammo is loaded with Hornadys bullet at 1000 FPS whereas Hornady TAP is loaded with the exact same bullet at 1050FPS. Hornady TAP should be on anyones short list for a defensive round in my opinion. Fiocchi XTP is $22/50 whereas TAP is $19/20 at the local Cabellas.

Mag-tech, Gold dot and, Remington Golden sabre are also rounds that I will be trying. Right now I am confident that the Fiocchi will function and the XTP is a good design. I don't know how much the 50 FPS difference will affect expansion but I will probably do some testing with both later.

what gunlivnNlearner said. Probalby the 3 best choices, u won't go wrong on either and they will work great out of your lcp.

Nice gun to by the way. They had some issues, gut IMO ruger stepped up to the plate and took care of us and didn't leave us out in the cold with a real POS..FWIW IMO

Got a box of MagTech FMJ just to run through it. 0 misfires or problems of any sort at the range.

I was dry cycling rounds last night to see if the magazines worked ok. Every third round in the Ruger factory mag would fail to eject, but there were no problems actually firing the with it.

Even though the sites are extremely low profile I was surprised how much accuracy could be achieved. Definitely minute of bad guy. I no problem hitting the target at 7 & 15 yards. With careful attention to detail I was able to get some small groups at 15 yards.

I will definitely buy the Crimson Trace laser for this gun as I think it would make it more fun to shoot for my girlfriend.

I like the Corbon DPX stuff. Supposedy... I may be wrong, but the DPX stuff has no lead. It is a copper only hollow point to my understanding? This is supposed to give it a different "effect". It expands, but slower. I know people who use it to deer hunt with.

The 3rd round bullet hang is a well documented issue on the post-recall LCP's. It is cause by the follower catching on the mag release. Some users have either filed the mag release down a bit or filed a shallow groove in the follower. I have not had the issue in my LCP or seen it with the two owned by friends, but I have heard of it.

This is a link to dozens of .380 acp tests from various manufacturers (very long read): http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1199737660

You may want to head over to the elsie pea forum to see what the folks there have to say: http://elsiepeaforum.com/forum/index.php

P.S. I absolutely love my little LCP. It eats anything I feed it and is with me 100% of the time... Even when I carry my larger calibers. After much research into the best SD ammo, I choose Remington Golden Saber 102gr as my carry ammo. It really does have the best penetration and expansion attributes of the .380 cartridges available today. I would use Hornady Critical Defense ammo, but the only proof of performance is in the marketing movie put out by Hornady.

I am using the buffalo bore 100 grain bullets works good and I dont feel underarmed. Love the gun no regrets at all

Mine eats anything so far, but my settled-upon favorite carry ammo is Federal HST, so that's what it shoots and is carried with.
