at the range last wkend ro asked me if i knew i should'nt be shooting lead bullets in my glock answered no, :uhoh:is it true? I've shot 180 gr tc w/5.0 gr w231 w/ no issues yet, i give it a good cleaning after every session and pay special attention to the inside of the barrel, have'nt seen any real leading 2-300 rds per session. what gives.think i saw that glocks are prone to fail??? is it the gun the bullet or the combo:confused:

Lead bullets aren't recommended for use in any polygonal barrels. My HKs and Kahr recommend not using lead bullets. Lead fouls a polygonal barrel to a greater extent than land and groove rifled barrels. As for Glock failure issues that goes back to the unsupported chamber in .40 Glocks. You can Google around and find plenty of posts regarding that issue and the lead /polygonal barrel issue as well.

Here's the "why" behind your question. >click< FWIW, I shoot lots of cast bullets through polygonal barrels. Just gotta make sure you keep 'em clean.
