I figured out what metal fell out of my no4 several months ago. It used to shoot just fine, but today I noticed the extractor had no tension.

Does anyone have a spare extractor spring that they are willing to part with?

thank you jennrick, one of my enfields needs a new extractor and spring and these guys just happen to have both...good find.

This seems to be the part I am most often called upon to replace. If the claw does not have a good tension on it (like so strong you can barely lift it) replace the spring. The claw itself is rarely faulty.

Wolfe Springs also sells No.4Mk1 extractor springs. There is a little trick to getting these installed correctly: Use a piece of dental floss to pull the spring into the bolt head rather than trying to push it in from the front. Take the opportunity to clean all the gunk out of the recess while you have everything out of there.

I think I may have two of them, let me look ifi have them they're yours
