I hear everyone talking about truck guns. Louisiana considers your truck an extintion of your home. Does this mean I can carry a shotgun in an overhead rack or does it have to be behind the seat? Does it have to be concealed? What about it being loaded? What would a cop think if he pulls you over and you have a shotgun easily accesable?

How about a 2nd handgun in 7.62X25 if a rifle or carbine is for some reason not practical? Cz52s and Tokarevs are relatively cheap, and they shoot flat.

Most jurisdictions require it be unloaded (usually an anti-poaching law that seems unrelated, but they'll use anything to nail you).

In Louisiana loaded rifles and shotguns may be contained in commercial gun cases that are located just about anywhere in the passenger compartment or trunk. You cannot conceal on one's person. That is the only prohibition.
