I Had owned & still own Various 1911"s by Heinie,Wilson,Cyl&Slide,Novak,CT Brian,Trapper Gun and others.Anyone familiar with Les Baer especially Stinger Model,I would like your comments. Previously heard that rear sight has to be positioned all the way to one side for correct point of impact. Thank You

Being new to the high road I might have posted this previously in the wrong forum.I had owned & still own custom 1911"s by Wilson,Heinie,Cyl&Slide,Novak,CT Brian and others. Anyone owning a Les Baer especially a Stringer Model,I would like your comments. I once heard several owners complaining about rear sight having to be all the way to one end for proper point 0f impact but that was several years ago. Thank You

I own a Les Baer Stinger, and a Concept V, that’s not been my experience at all. Mine has been reliable for over 7K and was my primary CCW gun for years. My Concept V has over 30K through it. My sights (front and rear) are centered.

Here’s a test I did with my Stinger:

This thread covers some good ground on lb carry options. As you can see the stinger was voted best for carry. I will personally avoid lb for the foreseeable futre after owning a highly problematic concept vii. I prefer wilson - imo the build quality is superior and their customer service is light years ahead of lb.

My father shoots a Les Baer Thunder Ranch II and it shoots to point of aim since day 1. It came with Trijicon Night Sights and the pistol has functioned flawlessly, save for a little bit of creep in the trigger that has developed over theyears. It is by far my favorite 1911 I have ever shot and if I had the money, I would own one in a second.

Good luck on your purchase, you will love it! Oh and Les is one of the coolest dudes you will ever meet.

I had a stainless Stinger...I loved it, but I gave it to my son when he graduated boot camp a few months ago (I still get to shoot it)

Its a great carry gun if you don't mind the weight...it did require some break in, but after that...it runs like a swiss watch, and is accurate as can be.

No problems with sight alignment...

For the record my concept vii was as accurate, maybe more, than my wilson. Reliability was the issue.

Concept V here. About six months old averaging 1K per month. No malfunctions to date and rear sight is more or less centered.

When I first received the gun I disassembled, cleaned and lubed. Because the lock-up was so tight I expected failures to return to battery (at least initially). I fired 500 rounds of my handloaded cast without issue.

It is definitely tighter than my Nighthawk and Wilsons and while I have not compared them on the bench, I feel it's a bit more accurate.

I'm clearing a spot in the safe for another LB.

I had a blued stinger and carried it for awhile. It was a terrific gun, but I didn't like the officer frame much. I sold it. Now I am in the market for a full size. I want the tactical carry with 1.5 inch.

Edit: The weight never bothered me. I had a full size 1911 that I carried for awhile, and it was easy with the right holster and belt.
