Lets see some targets

Now here's one that's a little different.
The shooting qualification for the Texas CHL is 50 timed rounds shot from 3-7 & 15 yards. The passing score is 174/250.
I set out to shoot a passing score by just firing the 3 & 7 yard strings,
with my eyes closed.

Exceeded the minimum score by 4 points.:D

M2, i know what your saying, and can you believe that out of four guys, I was the only one that got a perfect score in my class two weeks ago. BTW they changed the target and region for the center mass. You still would have passed wth the new requirements, however.

This one is a couple months old. 7 yards from my Mark III. Probably the Winchester white box ammo but possibly Federal bulk pack.

And these are some of my kids's targets. The 6 of spades was my 14yo with a borrowed Single Six. I think she was trying to use up the Remington golden bullets that none of our guns will feed. IIRC, we were shooting at 10 yards that day. The other card was the 8yo shooting his Crickett.

If the day goes as planned, I'll have some 25 yard targets of my own tonight.

Yes, I renewed last Saturday using the new target. (but I still have some old targets left)
I'm very disappointed in my shooting this time.

The range/school I shoot at requires that you shoot only their Glock 17 and their ammo. These guns have a LOT of wear. I haven't shot there that one or two guns doesn't keep jamming. Just one constantly jammed Saturday.
The G17 I had shot left and was a little inaccurate and I don't like Glocks anyhow but that's no reason for the poor shooting.

Oh well, it's a 250/250.
Now I'm good for 10 years unless the rules are changed.:D
Just have to renew the paperwork in another five years.

Shooting this morning. Had a few of the Hornady HAP loaded. These were at the low end of the powder range. Accurate, but needs a bit more oomph to run the action when filthy.

Here are some of my assorted targets of various vintages. I'm rather proud of the silhouette. Even though it was only between 5 and 7 yards I was using two rental guns of types I'd never fired before.

Disregard the other 4 wild shots. They were from the first mag of rapid fire and my pitiful attempts at double-taps. The bullseye shot was the first hollow point round that had been fired from the XD.

Picture is a B27R target, 12 rounds of 9mm, fired point-shooting at 7 yards.

All of my targets are from 15 yrds and are 50 shots from offhand. With that said.

Glock 23 & 35 at 25 yards.

Majority of time at the range, I usually practice tactical shooting (non-inch grouping holes) because I want the badguy to bleed a lot from at least 2-3 holes rather than one.

Here are mine: 10 shots each

OK, not a pistol, but it's still a pistol caliber...does that count? First two targets shooting my new Hi-Point .40 S&W carbine. 50 rounds each target, 7/10/16 yards on the first one, all @ 10 yards on the second. Shooting my FMJ handloads, offhand, indoor range. Have not touched the sights, this is right out of the box.

A couple of pics of rapid fire drills, double taps, matched pairs, most from a Weaver stance but some one handed strong and weak hand, etc. at 8 yards.

BHP is below. Speer 115 gr. ball, Win. 115 gr. ST and the 124 gr. ST.

Below a Detonics MkI, same drills as above last Sat. in fact. Speer 230 gr. ball and 200 gr. JHP.

I try to aim at the area of the sternum rather than the lower point that is the X on most targets. Due to some recent surgery I'd been away from the range for a month. I lose a step when I'm away that long.

BTW MEC,

Above was from the hog hunt last weekend and we really missed you!

Now, that's a group that really counts!
I heard that was a good hunt. Glad y'all had a good time. I used to love shooting jackrabbits with pistols.
