I'm in North Texas. I set up a new area two weeks ago. Not much action the first week. A few doe but no bucks. This past week they seem to have found the feeder. I only have the timer set to throw for 2 seconds at 1am, 6am and 8:30pm.
They are mostly nocturnal. We have hit 100 degrees or more every day in August, so they don't move until about 8 or 9pm and quit feeding about 7 or 8am. Does come in first and then the bucks take over. Things are looking pretty good. Hopefully, we will get some more mature bucks as the season progresses. Most of these are still a little too young, but we only have 200 acres so I'm sure someone next to us will be impatient and take one or more of them. Seems to be a group of five bucks sticking together.
Looks promising so far.
