Ah, Bloom County. IIRC, I only missed two or three episodes over its entire run (but caught up to them when I bought the compilations.) Like Calvin and Hobbes a little better but neither can even touch Far Side.

Uh, I don't see what's funny. I'd hunt them if there was any way it was legal. libs are kinda like hunting wild hogs: they overpopulate like crazy and destroy the surrounding environment, they leave their excrement all over, they stink, they ain't pretty, both would be fun shootin' though!

Thank you very much for your comic strip. I remember the early 80's very fondly. I remember reading that very comic in the original newsprint in Austin; University of Texas, Daily Texan.

Jester Center used to buy kegs (of beer) for us on Friday nights. Those days are sadly long gone.

Funny stuff. Hope Berke has had a nice life...he's earned it.

The classic liberal is akin to the modern libertarian. When considering examples of classic liberals, think of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, etc.

The modern liberal is more accurately a facist socio-communist. Leftist, or leftard (i like that one) is good shorthand for it.

The modern lefty co-opted the term "liberal" because "communist" and "socialist" wouldnt fly here, and too many people already equated "progressive" with communism and socialism.

I guess so, I'm not a liberal but I do remember another Bloom County where the animals were out hunting hunters, I believe the "fat-bellied stogie sucker" was the intended prey and according to Pertnoy "them's good eating". I don't suck stogies but the rest of the discription fit and I still laughed at that one. Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves from time to time

Yes, I've heard this meme before... Washington, Jefferson, etc. Liberals are like them... The bottom line is the CURRENT usage is leftist. To equate Jefferson to Fat Teddy makes me nauseous.

We don't really have to parse semantics do we?? BTW if you maintain that the founding fathers were "liberal" give some referances... and other than left wing organizations who are trying to justify their own positions, please.
