Nice! Okay, so that was 100 yards or so, more or less? With a mil surplus Mosin, steel case ammo, a 20MM surplus scope (3-4X???), kneeling over a snowmachine seat, in freezing weather, on a sunny day with snow everywhere and an incredibly non-descript, solid white target.

And that young Riflewoman was almost drilling the same basic hole, probably shooting 2 MOA?

Miss Agnes impressed me greatly during the show, but this video was simply spectacular! thanks for sharing...

Im glad yer liking the show :D

The wife and her PU scoped russian sniper are the real thing bought from AIM. She still preferrs her M-39 but in a pinch, the PU rifles have a high enough mount that the iron sights are easily used when close up. Also, the higher mount calls for a chin weld, something much more 'Do-able" with wide eskimo cheeks and winter clothes, skimask and fur hat on, as well, with a chin weld, the breath is directed away from the scope, and dosent fog the lens at 0 and colder.

Prior to getting asked to get on the show, she was wanting one for Seal hunting, where precision is most needed, and it works very well, now with practise, she can pull a 400 yard shot off with no problemo, as with 4-5 EXTRA guys following along with cameras and such, her shooting distances have gone from 50-100 yards to 200 yards and moveing away ......and since thats the case, shes decided to use her PU for Moose Hunting, 'cause its the way it is...... :D

mosin v AR platform

I watched some of the scenes on line. really interesting. I like the comparison between the AR platform that the young outfitter was using and the mosin that Agnes was using... The AR failed and the herd of meat trotted on by with none taken.

I hazard an opinion that reliability must be king.

Shuks, the PU just didnt work out.............. It ended up being her Valmet made M-39 and a smack upside the head :D

She gave the PU scoped Mosin a go, and twice she had a Moose so close that the scope was useless......then changed over to her old faithfull M-39 with open sights and the 30 yard shot was a slider up the ribs, from the flank, and out the throat, off he crashed into his willow tangle, but a couple finnishing shots 50 yards away on the other side of the woillow line and all was well.

caribou:

You need to have a cook-out this coming summer, and invite THR. We'll bring beer, bullets and powder. You just cook-up something tasty. :D

Caribou - Looked like soft point ammo vs the Czech light ball. Are these reloads or factory?

The czeck LPS is her standard, but she had some fine 200 grn soft points made up and crono very consitant, so we used them , as we planned to use them for the Sealing. Gotta have them Seal brains removed, properly.

Gotta practise with what yer gonna use.
