I traded for this at the show on Sat. The series 1's are getting harder to find in like new condition. I believe I will hold on to this one..........

That's a nice looking pistol.

Is there a way to tell whether a Kimber is series I or II?

TIA!

Thank you for the nice comments. Yes, there is a II on the right side of the slide after the model. You can also rack the slide to lock back and look under the rear sight . If there is a (button) safety plunger it is a series II.

Thanks! -- that is easy. Not to hijack your thread, but I just got a used Kimber Classic Custom and was wondering if it was series I or II -- now I know it is series I.

Is the series I better than the series II?

In my opinion it is....I have a series II TLE and the safety plunger in the slide broke after only 35 rnds. I pulled all the safety parts out and now it runs just fine. The series I pistols are commanding a pretty good price as a result of the changover.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, Black Majik!

I wish I could post a nice picture of it like rblack's.

Nice, rblack!:)

This is my series I Pro Carry-

It ended up with a spare set of Wilson grip panels on it.
All four of my Kimbers are fairly old series I guns made back when Kimber was just starting up and trying hard to impress the heck out of everybody.

Here's a Gold Match Stainless made when it was the top of the Kimber line-

I also picked up this NIB Norinco commander. I did change out the grips, hammer, sear, trigger and msh.

Howdy rblack,

If you're interested in sellin' the Original 'Rinco hammer, sear and grip safety, let me know. Might also have a buyer for the mainspring housing.

Nice pistols!
