Thank you for the nice comments. Yes, there is a II on the right side of the slide after the model. You can also rack the slide to lock back and look under the rear sight . If there is a (button) safety plunger it is a series II.
Thanks! -- that is easy. Not to hijack your thread, but I just got a used Kimber Classic Custom and was wondering if it was series I or II -- now I know it is series I.
In my opinion it is....I have a series II TLE and the safety plunger in the slide broke after only 35 rnds. I pulled all the safety parts out and now it runs just fine. The series I pistols are commanding a pretty good price as a result of the changover.
It ended up with a spare set of Wilson grip panels on it.
All four of my Kimbers are fairly old series I guns made back when Kimber was just starting up and trying hard to impress the heck out of everybody.
