load data for Hornady .451 200gr. FMJ CT

Hello All,
I've been haunting this site for several days reading the wealth of info and advice. I'm a long time handgun owner and recently started reloading as another retirement hobby.
I've lots of Q's but my most immediate: I came across a great deal on 1000 of Hornadys #45157 bullets. These are .451 200gr FMJ C/T. Also received 5Lb. of Accurate No. 5 powder which seems to be a good choice for .45ACP loads.
Try as I might, I cannot find any info for this load combination. Since I'm new to reloading,I don't think I should try an extrapolate data and experiment without a little experience under my belt! I hesitate to use data from reloading manuals on 200 grain bullets since these are JHP and not the TMJ flat nose target bullets.

Could someone provide me with required load data? Or a least point me in the right direction? I've tried the Manufacturer's sites and nearly all the reloading sites.

You should be OK using a hollowpoint load for a FMJ. Start at the minimum load and work up. Been loading for 30 years and still have all my fingers attached.

6.7 Grs. Universal Clays - Avg. Velocity - 844 in the 90's

9.0 Grs. AA # 5 - Avg. Velocity - 893 in the upper 90's
.......Very Nice!, not max, but close. Stay at 9.0 or under.....8.7 is nice also and less recoil.

5.7 Grs. AA # 2 - Avg. Velocity - 821 - Hot - ? no notes on temp!

5.6 Grs. N320 - Avg. Velocity - 768 - 80's

All velocities from a 4" barrel.

All these shoot great in my guns with the Hornady 200 Gr. FMJ-CT at 1.260 O.A.L.

These loads are safe in my guns with my load procedure. Reduce 10% to start.

Appreciate it. Pretty close to what I have but just wanted to check reliable source. My concern is not so much the charge, but the bullet seat depth and OAL. I made up some dummy rounds to cycle thru my .45's (taurus Pt1911 & Colt Gov't). Seems to be ok but wanted some firm data.
Interesting site! Learned Quite a bit here already. I seem to be spending more time on the computer reading posts than actually reloading. Guess thats best though. Lots of the problems I'm having with my Lee Loadmaster have been addressed here(primer feed, case feed and Bullet feeder)Lets not forget the iconic chain!!
If the Temp here in Missouri ever gets above single digit maybe I can make some noise with my reloads!

My Hornady reloading handbook gives this data for .45 acp

5" barrel, Fed 150 primers, 200grn FMJ-C/T COL 1.245"

AA #5 - 6.9gr / 800fps, to 7.8gr / 950fps, and 8.1gr /1000fps this is the maximum load.

Speer # 13 gives a max of AA #5 as 9.0 Grs. with their 200 GD at 1.200, their 200 JHP at 1.155, and their TMJ (similar too Horn FMJ-CT) at 1.275. They give 900 FPS.

Accurate Arms shows for AA #5 with 200 Gr. Sierra FPJ at 1.225 a Min. as 8.7 for 924 FPS and Max. as 9.7 for 1050 FPS at 20.600 PSI.

They go to 8.7 on a Nosler 230 Gr. FMJ at 1.250

The Hornady book seems pretty conservative.

It is, for certain cartridges I find myself settling for something around a max Hornady load. I have not been able to work up anything over the mid-range of Speer's data that I was comfortable with.
