I have a 16" barreled car ar 15. I'm going to start reloading for it in the near future. I already have several pounds of IMR 4895 pull down powder. According to my lee book, they only show using IMR 4895 for 55 grain bullets and not 62. Do you guys have any favorite reloading recipes you'd like to share? Thanks in advance.

It just says use IMR4895 loading data. I haven't ordered any bullets yet so I'm not sure wether to get 55's or 62's.

If your barrel twist is 1:12, get 55 grain (or lighter) ammo. If it is 1:9 or 1:7, either one will work. I'd go for the 55 (vs. 62) myself.

It's a 1 in 9 twist. 55's are cheaper for pulldown. I'm leaning that way myself. Thanks, Guys.

Though not 4895, I use H-335 and 55gr pull downs for range loads out of my 16" Oly AR-15 with very good accuracy.

My load is 25gr of H-335, CCI mag primers and 55gr FMJ's in Lake City brass.
