Just bought a Remington 700 VTR (triangulated barrel) on .223rem. Researching for loads that I can tweak to pair with this rifle. Has anyone had any good luck with this particular rifle? I have replaced the stock with a Bell and Carlson A2 Medallist Stock to free float the barrel. Everything else is out of the box.

It's a pretty good rifle. I had better accuracy with my 700 varmint. A good load I found for the VTR was;

55gr Hornady FMJ/BT #2267
21.1gr Alliant Reloader 7
WSR Winchester Primer
Max OAL 2.25" ( basically seating at cannelure )

I did find that the VTR was more sensative to bullet crimping than my 700 Varmint. I got the best groups out of a no crimp load. I will say one thing about the VTR ... boy, with that brake it is LOUD.

Happy shooting !!
