Long Island Woman sorry for shooting intruder

Women are generally weaker at dealing with "stress/violence/defence", it's a warrior-mindset, kill or be killed, no remorse.

Not all humans are created equal(good human is greater than an evil one), if you feel differently no matter, just my opinion.

The lady should be sorry for nothing.

Ummm.... she shot the attacker, her boyfriend just mildly annoyed them by poking them.

IIRC policewomen shoot more than policemen. Maybe they feel bad about it more, I dunno... but they do it.

Maybe women feel bad about having to defend themselves, but they seem to do it just fine if not disarmed.

All this talk about birdshot...looks like the muzzle was so close that the shot column stayed tight and blew a narrow corrider through the point of aim.

yup!

Because she lives on Long Island, where her culture has taught her to be very confused on the issue.

I was robbed about a year ago, I had my CCW on me but I hit the skell
instead of shooting because "it" didn't have a weapon & I was pretty sure I could win the fight.

I wasn't sorry about using violence but I felt pretty sick afterward, I almost vomited.

Quit spouting off about how she should feel. She can feel how she wants. Christ, you want to be left alone in your self-defense choices. Leave this lady's feelings alone.

Further, if you haven't been in her shoes, you really have no business criticizing her. Experiencing the death of anyone is a serious reality check for any sane human being. Actually causing someone's death; well that's just entirely different territory.

I am in no way suggesting that he didn't fully deserve it. I'm just saying that we are all entitled to feel however we want about anything, especially when it comes to something so very final.

Oh yeah:

Women are generally weaker at dealing with "stress/violence/defence", it's a warrior-mindset, kill or be killed, no remorse.

I'd like for you to test that theory. Try to break into my house when my wife is alone with the kids. The .357 JHPs will taste just as bad as the .45s I'd hit you with - I promise.

My theory is that she will feel bad about killing you and will wish that you hadn't put her in that position, but that she will have absolutely no remorse over protecting the children.

Go for it. Really. I triple dog dare you. I'll even PM you my address and times I won't be there.

Tallpine,

Oh, I don't know, no telling what the situation was like. If she was in the line of fire, its not like he could take a precision headshot with an AR or something. Probably better to wack at him instead of blowing your gfriend apart in the process. Hard to say, unless you were there.

This is an argument, however, to actually have a decent rifle for HD.

No offence, but

Anyone who considers purchasing a weapon for self defense should spend much time searching their souls on this issue:can I do it? Will I do it? Can I live with myself afterwards?

It's a lot easier to live with yourself if you are alive.

Just my 2 cents

Resolving yourself to kill another human being is a tough thing to go through. Actually performing such a deed causes a psychological metamorphosis of some nature if you are a normal, decent human being. Even a Delta operator who's book I read some time ago stated that after he killed an enemy soldier, he felt as if he were under God's microscope.

She will feel what she will feel.

I hope that there are some caring folk around her that can help her come to terms with the appropriate application of deadly force.
Maybe there is some way that we can let her know that it is okay we support her and she is not a monster for having to defend herself in this manner.
Is this at all possible? I wish there was some way to reward people who use their firearms or other weapons correctly against the human varmints that infest any society.

thanks,
Jefferson

Two wrongs don't make a right.

People shouldn't make ill-advised comments about things that they read in the newspaper or online, especially when they know nothing about what their talking about. The media always gets the story incorrect. " Ms. O" is a perp herself, shocking right? If you knew this first hand I'm sure you wouldn't be rooting for some her to defend herself so quickly. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It depends with women when kids are involved 98% have the MOMMA Grizzly come out and Hell hath no fury like a scared and mad woman defending her kids when she has a gun.

I am glad she shot the idiot he got what he deserved.

I can't view any human as I would an animal. No matter what they did to bring it on I would still feel bad about having to shoot someone.
^^^This is what separates you from people like that... compassion. And I suspect a lot of these guys who claim they would have none would feel a little like dying on the inside too, just the same. This is one of those things that makes you a decent person... it's a good thing to hold on to, your humanity. Unfortunately, we also have to remember that some people have lost that piece of their soul... they don't value it in themselves, and won't respect it in others.

I blame the boyfriend who should have just shot the bad guy instead of "ramming him with the shotgun"
How about blaming the guy who burglarized the home instead of the innocent homeowner who wasn't ready to take a life? *** is wrong with you?
