Not sure if this is the right forum, but I didn't see a "clothing" section, and this seems to be where the holster talk goes on, so here goes. I am looking for a new belt that can be used for EDC with a Glock 23, and would also function for a weekend USPSA belt. That being said, I am a very new competitor, and I am not looking to get into the big fancy comp rigs that I have seen out at the range on match days. I know sturdy belts can cost some moolah, but the last belt I got has lasted me about 9 years(and it was free) so I am not against paying for quality/the right belt for me. If you need info, I am 6' and 210 lbs, and probably a 34" waist. There you have it, belt me!

BeltMan
Read the sizing instructions carefully, order belt, enjoy belt for lifetime, order more belts, pimp BeltMan for free on forums

Check out C5 Leather, Kansas City, KS.
Big Jim made me an excellent belt and holster arrangement with magazine carriers.

I will mention "the beltman", very nice man. My buddy has a crossbreed, he is very happy with it.

I will 2nd or 3rd sizing, read the sizing instructions more than once, most take measurements taken differently or in their own way.

Bill.

El Paso Saddlery makes some excellent duty belts, gear, not just cowboy stuff give 'em a look see.

Thanks guys! It has been a bit since I checked back, but i will start clicking links!

Measurement?

If one is to use the belt for IWB carry, shouldn't one add that into the measuring process?

Okay, so I am coming back to this, finally, after another shooting class, and reinforcing that I need a new belt. I think I am leaning towards a nylon type belt, so I am thinking either the wilderness instructor (5-stitch), or a blackhawk similar to that. Anyone have personal experience with any of those, or have another suggestions?

I have the Wilderness 5-stich belt. It has worked well for me.

The only down side is that it is a little more involved process putting it on and taking it off than a regular leather gun belt.

On the good side, it is much less expensive, and you can make very fine adjustments to get the fit "just right". You are not limited by the belt holes.

Make sure you read the sizing instructions before you order. It seems every belt maker has a different method for measuring for fit.

Ares ranger belt! The last belt that you will probably ever need.

I use mine for EDC. However, I have used it during training sessions with a g-19 and tlr combo, 2x single g-19 mag pouches, and 2x pmag pouches, all loaded will full magazines. No issues, No sag, it is a solid belt! A holster and or mag pouches are only as good as the belt that they are on. I make the gear so that is a check in that block, and the ares belt is the perfect addition to my set up.

This is just a couple pics that I had of it.

I don't know why 5.11 doesn't make the operator belt with the insert in 1.5" The 1.75" is the only option. They are great belts for the money, I wore one for 2 deployments over seas, as well as multiple training events both in the military and civilian sectors.
