Hey guys, I am wanting to load some rounds and they aren't listed in my Lyman's or Hornady's books specifically for IMR 4064. I am loading for my Savage 223 Rem, 22 inch barrel.
Bullets: 55 Grain, FMJ BT w/CL
My Hornady manual lists the 55 gr, FMJ w/BT but not the IMR 4064. Does anyone have a manual that lists starting and max load for this round?
Thanks,
Willie

The Hodgon data I download a couple years ago starts at 23 and max is 25.7, which is a compressed load. I got the best performance at 24.5 from an H&R Handi-rifle, which is 1:12, IIRC. It shot OK from my Axis, which is 1:9.
Same bullet, 55gr. with cannelure.

Thanks entropy, You are right about the Hodgdon website, I should have done that before askin. I went to website and their recipe is still the same as the one you have. For my first round of reloads I will start at 23 grains and work up to 25 in 0.5gr per increment. Think in will load 6 per each weight of powder, and refine as per results.
