I just got a Moss 500 but it has a wood stock that I want to replace with something made of tactical black plastic. I am only half joking. I do want a poly stock for it but it doesn't have to be tactical.
I was going to put on a Speedfeed pistol grip and forarm but today I traded my stock 28" vent rib bbl for a 18 1/2" non-rifled slug bbl with sights. This is just going to be a fun gun as I already have a Rem 870 HD with 18" bbl and a Rem 870 Turkey with 28" vent rib for trap. This is just an extra shotgun that I picked up cheap at a pawn store because it had a dog chewed stock and some light rust that came off with WD-40 and brass brush.
What I need is something light weight because the 500 has the alloy receiver and I want to take advantage of the inherent light weight of the gun. Since it has the top tang safety, angled pistol grip stocks are out. I guess I need to go to a conventional style stock but I want black synthetic and I want light weight. I also want something inexpensive since I only have $64 in the gun. I don't see the point of spending over $100 on a stock for a $64 gun.
I see the Hogues go for good prices on E-Bay, are the light and of good quality? What other stocks should I be looking at?
Thanks for your help in a trivial matter such as a fun gun.
