I set my new game camera up at my hog trap. Got a pic of a hog passing by on the trail, some birds, some raccoons, actually, a lot of raccoons, and this shot. Looks like a coyote resting in the grass on the far side of the trap and that's something to the left of him, perhaps a companion. It's been rainy and foggy and the shot's not real clear. Guess it COULD be a pig, but it looks like a coyote, to me. Big picture so click on the link and state your opinion.

Naw, I think its one of them there Chupacabras I keep hearing about down there in Texas. :D

Actually, I'm pretty sure the one facing left behind the trap is a coyote or fox, or some sort of canine.

The other one, to the left and behind the trap, I can't make it out well enough to tell what it is.

I think they are all three hogs and that it's the angle that makes it decieving. I say three because it looks like a hogs head about a little less than half way between the second angle iron on the left and the back end of the trap, about four to five big wire strands up. I can't imagine all those birds being so relaxed with a 'yote around.
count four big wire strands up and eleven or twelve small squares left of the back angle iron and that will put you on what looks like a snout eye and ear are just above on the right. Maybe I'm seeing things. It wouldn't be the first time.(LOL)

It's a Grackle I tellz'ya.

And not just any old Grackle but a female Grackle.

Her body is facing us and makes up what looks like the Coyotes ear as he moves left.
Her tail makes up the Coyotes snout.
She is looking over her right shoulder.

There is also a bluury bird in motion that comprises his bottom jaw, neck and left shoulder.

Do I get a prize if I guess correctly?:D

I do think it's a bird illusion. Very weird, though. I guess he's moving is what makes it work, blurred the shot. When I look for the bird, I can see it. It's like those illusions in the paper you have to strain to see. Or the guy with a mustache you turn upside down and it's a naked lady or something. Weird.

Yep and it's been doing great, lots of rain down here lately and it seals up dry which is something my SILs doesn't do. It is VERY easy on batteries, too, which I'm impressed with. Has IR flash, too, which I set it on when I checked it the other day. Not as long range, but works at shorter range and won't spook the game around the trap. It also does video, but I haven't messed with that, yet. It also has a laser to aim it which is very handy except in bright sunlight. My wife gave it to me for Christmas. :D

SILs is a cheaper one from "wild game innovations" and it's not nearly as desirable, but works. Like I say, it leaks a little and seems to fog up easier. It's 3mpix, only has optical flash. I'm not really into all that reaction time stuff for the detectors. It seems to catch the game okay, but the Remington branded camera I have is quite a bit better. Another thing I really like about it, I've had it out there since Christmas and the batteries are still showing full bars on the meter. That cheaper one uses C cells and EATS batteries. He goes through a set a week. My SIL is somewhat jealous. :D I'm sure it's not the BEST camera out there, but heck, they both take decent shots and tell ya what's there, except for the occasional moving bird optical illusion I guess. :D
