Hi all,
I dug out my old Lyman 45 lube and sizer after many years not using it, now I want to lube and size some 30 cal. bullets I cast back in the 70's.
What lube would you recommend I use without a heater.
Thanks for input, Floydster

I always used Lyman-Ideal graphite lube for many years with perfect results.
Then I bought a case of Lee Alox sticks at a garage sale for $2.00 bucks and have had good luck with it.

If it's cold, I either hang a shop-light on the sizer for a half hour, or warm it up with a heat gun.
Once you get it warm enough to use, no further heating is necessary.

PS: RCBS Green smells the best, but it costs way too much!!

The old NRA formula of 50% Alox and 50% beeswax is excellant for the purpose and soft enough to not need a heater unless it's much too cold to fool with sizing bullets!

My reloading room is kept at around 65 degrees, so if I get the right lube I should be ok. I didn't think I would drag out some of my old reloading stuff but it was always in the back of my mind.
When I first started casting, sizing and lubing bullets there was no such thing as a heater for the bullet lube, this was in the 60's, and how things have changed. I guess what goes around, comes around:)
It's all fun!! I still have around 15,000 bullets I casted up in those years.:)
