I messed up my M&P9 sear. Can't get one from S&W, factory installed part only. Are there any other options?

Dan Burwell came to mind but his voice mail is full.

Brownells sells the sear assemblies.

around $20 or so bucks.

besides that, youd need to send it to a M&P armorer.

(ahem; cough, cough)

krs,

Yea, I was hoping no one would notice. It's not ruined, just didn't turn out like my M&P45 did.

Olyeller,

Thanx for the tip, I'll check it out.

Ok, I'll own up to my shame too... I messed up mine as well. Really, the trigger is actually quite nice now :D. The problem is the slide will not lock back when the magazine is empty unless the trigger remains completely pulled. Is there anybody familiar w/ the Burwell trigger job that can suggest whether this is a problem w/ the sear assembly or the trigger bar? What a nice surprise... I didn't know that you could by these parts aftermarket. I may just be able to resurrect a gun previously condemned to range duty back to defense duty :D

And to think I am considering trying my hand at a Saiga conversion when I couldn't even pull this piddly little job off :what:

Jordan, it has nothing to do with the trigger bar or sear. You might want to clean and lube the area around the front locking block. It sounds like the slide stop is sticking.
Check out that little silver spring attached to the slide stop. It may be kinked or something.

no, i don't think that is the problem. the trigger bar is riding the front of the slide stop causing friction against the slide stop. when the trigger is pulled a little it pulls the trigger bar off of the slide stop, which is why it will consistently stay held open when cycled by hand w/ the trigger pulled and a mag in the gun, and will only stay open sometimes/when slammed hard when the trigger is not pulled

right, thats where it is sticking; in the front. lube it or clean it if its dirty, or maybe its buggered up some way.
we both agree that theres a clearance issue up there. Take it apart and let me know what you find out.
