M1A Question

Dumb question but kinda bugging me. I used to hear a ding noise when dry firing my M1a after the trigger is pulled, like a resonating echo I guess is the best description. Anyways, now I dont hear that noise with that rifle, but I do hear it with my brand new standard M1A. Does this mean the hammer is slower or there could be a potential problem? I just dont get why it doesnt make the noise anymore.

The other one is relatively new too, everything functions fine but just dont understand why I cant hear the ping at all. Its a socom 2 with the muzzle brake.

I've got an M1A standard, but I have no idea what noise you're talking about.

Some people say it's the tuning fork noise of the flash suppressor.Others say it's the hammer spring .I don't know which one is correct.

Flash suppressor rings pretty good.

My SA standard does it. It's definately the flash suppressor. Next time you dry fire, grab the suppressor while it's ringing, it stops the noise just like a tuning fork.

forgot to mention my mini 14 is the Tactical with the flash suppressor on it....really hadnt thought about it til now.
