Gun is in the vise and the one piece muzzle brake/sight post isn't budging? any tips

Trying to remove the aforementioned part (not positive what its called in this case). It may very well have to be heated.

Whoa a minute!
Do not heat anything until someone with actual experience with that particular part gives the OK; reason being that improper application of heat may damage the barrel, or soften something else.
Not trying to sound negative, but I'd hate to see something bad come from it.

Looks like you remove the gas plug, then use a gas cylinder wrench to rotate it off.

This. IIRC the gas plug takes a 3/8's wrench. Then just screw off the flash hider. If the plug is really tight, you should use a gas cylinder wrench to hold the gas cylinder or you could damage the cylinder/barrel.
