I'm looking at getting a tritium front sight for my M1A scout, but I'm having trouble deciding which brand to go with. I have a .062 wide front sight now, so I'm a bit concerned about how wide it would be.

But does anyone have any experience with tritium front sights on M1As? I have a Truglow front sight for my AR that I like. Any suggestions for the M1A?

I was in the same position and went with the Trueglow. However, just as you mentioned the Scout comes with the narrow NM front post and the Trueglow is the wider "standard" post. FWIW, it's pretty darn difficult to pick out the post in low light through the rear peep and in hindsight I would have just left it alone. What is your intended use? Hogs?

I was thinking Hogs, or maybe deers with the 10 rd mag.

I kinda think I might miss the narrow front sight a bit for the more recise shot placement.

Do you think maybe it would be just about as helpful to just keep the narrow blade on the front and maybe just touch it up with a dab of high visibility paint on the rear of the blade instead?

You could try cutting open a chemlight and dabbing a little bit on there. I went the other route and bought a Pulsar Digisight.
