Marlin 101 dating question

hey all,


up at my folks house, and my dad has a marlin 101 he's trying to find some info on. There is no marking on the rifle, save for the usual "Marlin firarms..."
and the two letters "LG" Stamped on the barrel. Any way of know what year it is? any websites that might list this?
Also, he's looking for a new stock for it, but gunbroker is fruitless at the moment. any ideas?
I think I can talk him into posting pix if need be to determine what year/era it's out of.

only thing i can tell you is that it was made between 1941 and 1977 you could go to this site www.rimfirecentral.com and get lots of info on it.
