marlin 39 A (Q)

I have two, one that looks newer with checkering does not have a micro grove barrel (D22xxx 1978) the other Micro grove ( v223xx 1961) ????

Thanks for asking . I just do not think the info I am finding is correct. The s# for the rifle with the ballard rifling the letter is not fully stamped it could be a (D) (B) or maybe a (R) It has checkering forend and stock, first two numbers are 22. It is not a gold trigger. The buttplate does not have Marlin on it.And no plastic piece below the pistol grip. ( The other rifle may be right s# starts with a (V) 22 ect, Mic Grove,( comes up 1961) I am just trying to get it right .

What I have learned from other areas that the letter ( D )was1947 that looks like the answer I am looking for. Thanks . Target

??? The letter D was used as a 1947 Prefix.
