Marlin 39AS Original Golden

I saw a beauty sitting in the used rack at the local buy-a-gun emporium over the weekend, close to mint condition.

I kinda had my heart set on a BLR in .22, but this one looks awful good for $289. I've got several .22 long guns but would really like a lever action.

How do the 2 stack up, and how does the price on this one sound?

$289 is a real good price.

The Marlin is a classic. It has been around a lot longer than the Browning, and it is made in the USA rather than in Japan. For my money, I'd take the Marlin any day.

It's cherry....and it's got nicely figured walnut too - at least for a Marlin
