Testing to see what shoots best from my Marlin 925 22LR.
Was about 80 degrees and very humid. Minimal wind.
It is scoped with a Simmons 44MAG 3-10x44.
All are 7 shot groups taken from a make shift rest at 50 yards. Targets are Wally World paper plates, 9.125" diameter, with a spot of paint.
Bore was not cleaned from last trip out, about 400 rounds thru at this point. Marlin says do not clean until it hits 1000. It has been cleaned once prior to initial use.
Ammo test shots from left to right.
Top row---
Remington 22Subsonic Std Vel 38gr. lead HP
Winchester SuperX Std Vel T22 Target 40gr. lead solid
PMC Sidewinder Hi Vel 40gr. lead solid
Bottom row---
Wolf Match Target Std Vel 40gr. lead solid *
Federal #5035 Std Vel 40gr. lead solid
Wolf (made in Germany) grouped the best and was sub 1", size of a quarter. (lower left plate)
Suprisingly the PMC Sidewinder Hi Vel's came in second with a quarter size group, minus one flier. Very well could have been my fault too. (upper right plate)
