Marlin 989M2 Ejection

Just got one for $75. Great shape and it has the rear sight (miracle). I am having some ejection problems with it. Using CCI Minimags (solid and HP) I get the bolt to catch the empty as it is about to clear the port jamming the case in sideways. When I use Thunderbolts I don't have the situation. Is it a function of needing hypervelocity ammo or is there a situation I'm not aware of. A model 60 I used to shoot often never had this problem even with standard velocity ammo. If it is a heavy spring issue, is there a lighter return spring that can be had?

Parts are avaialble at Numrich if the springs are worn out, but I'd start with a detailed cleaning. It should function with any 22lr ammo.
