Anyone have any experience with this rifle? There is one in a local gunshop for ~$100 (which seemed to be about the right price) and I decided a little .22 bolt might be nice.

I had one years ago. Accuracy is more than acceptable. Still have a single shot variant sold under the "J.C. Higgens" name for Sears (my first rifle- Christmas gift 1964. I was 11) The Marlin bolt actions are a great value that is too often overlooked. Great for plinking or small game hunting, and as reliable as a hammer. I was at the range with Chugach a few months back. He brought his Marlin bolt action in .17 HMR. 1 to 1 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards were easy.

I've got a Marlin Glenfield Mod 10, basically a 25 without a magazine. It was my 12th B'day present 21 years ago. Used to sit at the pond and shoot bricks of ammo at a time. Would have to stop and fish awhile when the barrel got so hot the cases wouldn't eject. Did have a major problem tho' After 20 years of heavy use I had to replace the firing pin, dang cruddy marlin quality control.
Of course then I had to start playing with it and ended up lightening the trigger too much. I haven't fixed that little problem yet, but last time I had it out it would still shoot well under an inch at 50yrds. At least it would when it would wait for me to actually pull the trigger before firing.

My son and wife both have one, both have scopes on, and are more than accurate enough. My wife put a bipod on hers, as she likes to shoot from a bench. Sorry, no owners manual, but on Marlin's website they have a bunch of downloadable manuals.

i have a manual for my glenfield 25 i called marlin to get a few years ago it can be done.
I have a Glenfield 25 I got for my twelfth birthday in 1971. I think it was used, because it came with no papers, but it looked new. I still have it, it's my only .22 rifle, and it's slayed many a squirrel, with iron sights. It's always functioned flawlessly. I bought a spare mag for it from either Midway or Numrich not too long ago. I love it, for various reasons, but that's because of 39 years of memories and no trouble out of it, not because I know any better...

I have a model 25 also, and it is a fantastic shooter. Best $100 rifle ever.

There's 2 manuals listed that may help; one is a generic manual for Marlin bolt action rimfires and the other available manual is for the model 25mn which is a 22 magnum of some sort. I've been told some of the parts are interchangable, but I'd never let anyone but a qualifies gunsmith make that call.
If anybody has the manual and can scan it into a .pdf file, I think the owner of the site will accept it.

Well, for what its worth, I bought mine from a buddy probably about 20 years ago, picked up a second mag, and never regretted it. A nice little rifle.
