A local gunshop has the Deluxe Model 60 on sale for a resonable price, and I am considering the purchase, becuse I have admired that rifle since they first were on the market.
The only problem is, these are probably manufactured since the merger of Remington and Marlin. "REMLINS"? Other sites are very complimentary about the 60 before the merger, but fears of lesser quality control since Remington has taken over seem to be regularly mentioned. They don't seem to offer any documention of that, tho.
So, what's a fellow to do? Just buy the new gun, and trust the manufacturer to have cntinued making a quality gun, or take the chance of finding a good used one that I can pass along to my grandkids?
Thanks
