Hi, I live in Ct. and have a permit here. I also have a home on the Cape and would like to acquire a Mass. permit so that I can move between my 2 homes and carry/have a weapon with me at both homes. As a Ct. permit holder, does anyone know what I have to do and how difficult it would be to acquire this? Will Mass honor the requirements I met for my CT. Permit ?

Thanks

Hi you have to apply to the mass state police and they require you to appear in person for the interview. At that time they will take yor fingerprints and photo.

Massachusetts does not honor any other states permit, they also don't take anyone elses safety course. They require you to take a safety course for their permit. The safety course has to be from an instructor certified by the massahcusetts state police and taken in massachusetts.

Also do not take any guns, ammo or magazines into massachusetts period, until you have a nonresident LTC. There is a place called mass firearms school I forget where in massachsetts, but they teach the course you need for an LTC. As far as how difficult it is to obtain the license I have heard it is difficult to get the license but I don't know,I hope this helps.

....

not correct , theres Mass. certified instructors in other states that gives the course, so the course does not have to be "taken in Massachusetts"
