Mauser G33/40 loads

What would be a good load for the Mauser G33/40 being that is so light and has such a short barrel. Remington factory ammo kicks like a mule and muzzle blast looks like a flame thrower. I am not looking for a hunting load just something pleasant to plink with. Thanks.
