(Michigan) NICS Transaction Number Missing from Pistol Sale Recrod

Hi,

I was just contacted by the FFL that transferred me a handgun recently, they were calling to give me the NICS transaction number, as they forgot to include it in the pistol sales record slip.

the problem (or possibly non problem) is that i've already given the state police "their" copy of the form.

is this a concern?

You did your due diligence by giving the state police their copy. If the FFL forgot something, it would be on them in my opinion. But then again I am not a lawyer. You did your part and met the requirements.
