On Rep Tony Cornish FB page he states there are not enough votes to pass the mag or AWB bills. Theres still enough to pass the "Background check" bill so do not let up on your Reps. He also said the AWB and Mag bills are dead in the other side of the state house.

let's hope so. Now we just need to keep writing letters and calling to get the rest of this crap off the table too.

I have looked at the proposed senate files and have a big problem with a couple things that will affect purchases from a licensed dealer. Here is an excerpt from my recent letter to the senate reps about it.

The two proposed bills you are going to cover (senate file 205 and 458) seem vary only slightly, and are mainly about the transfer of firearms between individuals. However, there are also some changes that affect the purchase of firearms from a licensed dealer. Both bills call for charging up to $25 for a transferee permit and creating the limitation that a Minnesota pistol carry permit can no longer double as a permit to purchase after it is a year old. Please note that these pistol carry permits have to be renewed every five years, so what is the point? Why make law abiding firearms owners pay more money and jump through more hoops when buying firearms from a dealer?

Here is more background on that from a Minneapolis "newspaper":
