MO whitetail hunt

After taking a 15 pointer a couple years back, I followed him up with this nice 9 pointer on opening weekend this year.
He came up behind three of us, downwind of all of us, right across an open pasture.
Took him with my .243 sporter built on a mid-30's mauser action topped with a weaver k10. Not cutting edge technology, but functional!

That is a very nice buck and a very nice rifle. Looks like that .243 killed him dead. Based on the exit wound that is a picture perfect double lung shot too.

Please everyone be careful this season, already theres been a few bad incidents of houses being shot, cars being hit and close calls. If you are one doing the shooting, please be in mind whats behind your target. If you are out in the woods please wear bright orange.
