I currently own a SW model 686, to me the Cadillac of SW .357 and hope to never have to sell it.

Years ago I had a model 65 got unemployeed and sold it. Actually, loved this pistol. Anyone know where for a decent price?? a model 65 can be purchased?

You know, to me, the 65 just felt good in the hand. Seemed perfect for an all day diet of .38+P

I had one. There is a lot going around that are australian import surpluss. About a year ago, There were a bunch at franklin's guns in athens, GA for sale for about $299 each. They are out there if you look.

Hello friends and neighbors // A few month ago I searched around and bought off Gun Broker the lowest priced 4", 65-3, .357 police trade in I could find.

$275 to Phonix Dis. --$20 to my FFL and I was a happy man.

The grips were rough so I smoothed the chips and somewhat recut the checkering.
The right side plate has some severe scrapes from the holster snap but other wise the wear is minor.
Lock up is right for a S&W.

With Houge grips and a little color on the sights I was ready to go.
The 65-3 shoots better than I do.

Hello All-

Just let a 3" slightly used, Smith & Wesson model 65 slide thru my fingers late
last week. NO box or doc's, and wearing a set of Pachmayr rubber grips; and
marked only at $329.88~! Please kick me where it hurts~!!!!! :uhoh:

Those are, like, late 1990's prices. I'd buy another (to go with the 3" RB 65-3 I shoot all the time!) for $275-$329 today if it came up.

I saw some in the Birmingham Pistol Wholesale ad in the last SGN. They were 3 inch.
