I'm refinishing a Mosin 91/30, and I sat down to fit the bayonet I got with it. It was the best fit in the shop for my Mosin when I got it, but it still needed a little filing work to fit on all the way.
So I file a little here and there, and it still won't go on. It's pretty clear at this point that it's nothing around the front site base. I think it's just too tight where the barrel starts to get thicker as the bayo slides on and twists. I filed it a little, but no progress and I want to be really stingy with the filing. Any suggestions, experience, or ideas?
