Mosin Nagnat appeal

just bought one this weekend. i was going to get a mini 14 but had a lot of posts on this subject so i got my fix for a new rifle in a new mossin.

i paid $90 and montana so no sales tax.

mine seems to be a 91/30 Tula with a 1940 stamped below it.

i shot it today. its about 15 degrees out so i went with non-corrosive ammo because it would have been a pain in the a** to clean outside in the cold.

it was an awesome to shoot. hit my first shot at 100 yards, second at 150, and third at 200. the recoil wasn't that bad (i am used to a 270).

this rifle was really cool.

non-corrosive at $10.50/20

corrosive at $5.50/20

and for an extra $65 I stuck a stock like this on it, took the rear site off and put some 22 rings on it and a good pistol scope (or you could use a rifle scope with a long eye relief) and have a really nice hunting or bench rifle. did anyone mention they are cheap and cheap ammo. I enjoy the he11 out of mine. I have 3 of them. I only altered 1 and stuck the other 2 in a safe to give to my kids later.

Anyone that can afford them would be better served buying 10 of these rifles than another M4 for SHTF. If the SHTF, being able to arm the people around you will be much more useful than another black rifle. Just my $.02

The Mosin is the last cheap major firearm of WW2. A piece of history you can own and shoot for the price of a night out. How can anyone not like them.

years ago a friend of mine had bought one of the 44s..I never heard one being shot..so It sure was a big surprize to hear that guns roar...scared the crap out of me,and the fireball.....holy crap it was like a dragons breath,,I mean this thing looked brand new like it just left the factory,, he also had one of the longer 91.now that wasnt nearly as loud.and lots less fire balling..

Man I want one..LOL..not to sure what one,, but it will be soon.. maybe i;ll sell my sks with the folding stock and buy 2 -44s maybe one 44 and one 91,
