Can anyone out there help me? I am trying to bring an older Mossberg 500 back from the dead. I completely disassembled it, removed all the old scarthed-up painted fish, replaced the broken action tube assembly, and polished everything. I sent it all out for a high-gloss black oxide coat, and it came back beautiful. Unfortunately, I also took the trigger assembly apart, to have all the small internal parts oxided, and to clean out all the weed seeds and other debris from probably decades of neglect.

I can't seem to get he trigger aqssembly back together. It's the older style, and the only pics I can find are a bit fuzzy, and of the newer style. Also, I think that, looking at what pics I CAN find, a small spring - the sear spring, a sort of miniature clothespin-like spring, may be missing, as in was never there (at least, when I got it). I talked to Mossberg customer support, and the guy said he didn't have a picture of the older trigger assembly, which I finda bit hard to believe. I was a little surprised at their attitude, but to each his own.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a decent blow-up of the older-style trigger assembly, so I can try and figure this thing out, without having to buy a whole big assembly-disassembly book just to look at one pic, I would greatly appreciate it. So will the young man who's supposed to be getting this thing as a birthday present soon.

Thanks again, everyone, for any help you can give me.

Jim
