My LGS is having their Grand Reopening sale at the end of the month, and one of the sales is the Mossberg MMR hunter AR rifle. The stock photo they're using is one of the Mossy Oak finishes. Anyway, sale price is $599, for the optics ready, 20" barrel looks like it's free floated but can't tell and the Mossberg website isn't very informative.
While I'm not interested in another AR at the moment, a coworker just drooled all over my laptop when he saw it.
Anyway, how are Mossberg ARs? I figured $599 is a decent price for just about any non-polymer AR style rifle and the MSRP on Mossbergs website is a shade over $1100 for the camo versions.
I'm of the assumption that an AR from any reputable manufacturer should be a solid rifle.
Looking at what I (also assume) believe to be it's closest competitor, the Remington R-15 (predator version), MSRP is about equal with Remington being slightly higher.
Looking for any first hand experience that I can share, and help steer him in the right direction for his first AR. He's not new to guns, as he already has a Remington 770, Mossberg 500, VZ-2008 and a S&W SD9VE.
