I have a VZ58 and I am wanting to mount a red dot/holo sight. Is there a mount that DOES NOT have a ton of rails or is "tacticool"? My rifle is "traditional" so I don't want to ruin the look too much.

Thanks

Good luck in your search, I'm going to miss my VZ58 dearly. But I'd rather sell it than give the CT politicians the satisfaction of me registering it as an "assault weapon."

I like the way you think Mike.... must be a CT thing ... lol :D

Yeah man, I just can't do it, I refuse to do it. Sold off the Connecticut "assault weapons" and just bought an M1A instead. Cause eff 'em.

If I ever move to a free state and can own a VZ again though, I will....even if that state also allows real AKs in 7.62. I really do like the platform a lot, stands on its' own.

The sidemount style sold by CzechpointUSA works quite well - I have on on my 5.56mm vz-58. It is unobtrusive when not in use, and requires very l;ittle time/effort to mount up when you need it.
On the other vz-58 I have the FAB/Mako/Zahal poly forearm, which of course require no permanent mods to the rifle. On this I use a Busnhnell TRS 25 red dot, which has been very consistent and holds zero.

Yeah, it costs more than the rifle (but what not) but even as a poor shooter, I think its worth every CZK it costs.
There is also kinggun/zahal option - Zahal asks about $295, when I was sending it it was for about $230. But its not toolles field strip.

Your link says nothing found for that product...
I'd like to try that receiver cover rail mount sometime, but the price is a bit prohibitive - is it importable to the US?
